Current Campaigns   2000 PATIENTS DENIED ME/CFS SERVICES !   What YOU can do to help get these ME Clinics set up! • Write to the Chief Executive of your local PCT and request a new ME/CFS Service NOW! • Send a copy of your letter to your local MP and ask them to take up the problem with the PCT. • Write to the Letters Page of your local newspaper about ME and the lack of a ME/CFS Clinic. Ask your family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues anyone who lives in your area to do the same! The more letters sent to the PCT the more likely we will get these vital new ME/CFS Services.   Tameside and Glossop PCT breaks its promise. In 2008 after years of campaigning on behalf of the 1000 people with ME in the area, we were told that a ME/CFS Service ‘with guaranteed ongoing funding’ would be set up in 2009. Indeed Stockport PCT won the bid to set up the service. Late summer we discovered that ‘due to financial pressures’ the PCT had abandoned the idea, without even telling us. At a meeting with their directors in December they said ‘A new proposal will be made for a service in 2010 BUT there is no guarantee it will be approved’! Please now contact your MP !      Trafford PCT ‘has no money for new service’ In January 2009 Trafford PCT’s Chief Executive agreed with SMEG that they would investigate Stockport’s ME/CFS Service and prepare a proposal. In August they finally started BUT we were also told that they have no money for a service for Trafford’s 900+ ME sufferers!
