Outline of a usual meditation class

  • Everyone gets a warm drink and then gets into a comfortable position.
    Most people sit on chairs, a few may lie down, one or two sit cross-legged on the floor.
  • We then sit quietly, allowing the mind to settle and the body to relax.
    This is our first meditation practice.
  • Sarah teaches us something more about meditation.
  • We then try and put this into practice.
    This is our second meditation practice.
  • Group discussion on how we got on.
  • Break for lunch.
  • Some more teaching and discussion.
  • We practice again all we have been taught.
    This is our final meditation practice.

The length of meditation practice varies between 10 and 20 minutes.
