As a newcomer to this league I would firstly like to say how very professional this web site is. Having said that can someone please tell me, why do I always have to download the league tables before I can print them off and then have to delete them after? Is there a way for me to view and print them without downloading them first.

Welcome to the site, and welcome to the world of microsoft. Some people can, some can't, we never did get to the bottom of this.

When you just print it off it does download it but to your temporary internet area so you don't have to. I/we (at work) have looked into this and always drew a blank, the world seems split on this and so are we.

If there is anyone out there who knows, please let us know. :)

I may have an idea, trouble is I will have to be at home to try it.

So I will give it a go tonight, watch this space.

NO, that didn't work either.

Hi madick007

What browser are you using. You see it works for me, in fact I cannot stop it working.

I am on IE 7 by the way, on XP

Cheers

Hi Bricky.
Thanks for your reply to my question, and in answer to yours I'm using IE7 too.

Hi

Well I have been looking more into it. Both of us on IE 7, one works one doesn't :?

IE 8 does the same as yours. I believe it is some security setting, but how you knock it off god knows.

I think this is being done on purpose, the powers that be consider it to be a security threat without saving it. When it is saved your computer can do a proper virus check etc. This is more important with programs than files. The trouble is if you run a program without saving it it can cause havoc before it can be stopped/checked.

Unfortunately this security problem affects files as well as programs, so we may be stuck with it. There is nothing we can do from "our" end, the security settings is at "your" end. If anyone out there has any fixes/changes for this please tell us.

The Bottom line is:

if you've got half-decent anti-virus software installed, you will continue to be asked to download before opening. If you don't use a Mac or haven't got decent software installed (i.e. Norton) OR you have deliberately disabled your software because it slows down your porn-surfing, then you will be able to open Pool Shark's ******* excel sheets without the need to save and download.

I for one, will put up with the inconvenience of saving, downloading and then opening the (dubious) tables and stats if it means I avoid viruses. My porn is outsourced elsewhere! (thank heaven for iPhone porn!)
